The Brothers Johnson - I'll Be Good To You 1976
I love this song! RIP Louis Johnson.
Loved the midnight special signs
Never heard this one but it definitely swings
Remember when my stepmom bought this song for us ❤❤
Heard this song on the radio today and it took me back!! Such a great song, bittersweet memories ... and then to see it posted from Midnight Special ... wow, thanks!! These were the days!!!
Brass section - PERFECT!
Nice Version. This is just plain amazing. Almost shedding tears.

Great memories of my best friend and I cruising around New Haven, CT. during the 80s in my mint 77 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham listening to The Brothers Johnson in the cassette deck drinking beers and picking up chicks.
The best funk band of the late 70s along with the Gap Band. One of Quincy Jones Best songs. Shame one of the brothers got caught banging the other brother's GF. Was it the brother on the strat banging the brother playing the Paul or the other way around?
Love them ❤❤
I could see why that Ritchie Blackmore the guitarist from Deep Purple, would say he's the best!
his joke is arguably funnier than every single joke told by the protagonist here
Heard this yesterday in a grocery store....which bummed me out....I had to come here and see these guys perform this awesome song from my youth. I'm dancing in my bedroom now instead of the produce aisle. LOL
Both their music and hair were spectacular 😊
1 of my favorite bands growin up as a pup n Dat time 😊👍
I’ll be good to you good to you good to you, I’ll be… 😭❤

George is so handsome.
Louis is KILLIN on that Alembic!!! The whole entire band is SMOKIN HOT 🔥! FUNK IN IT'S PURIST!!!
George Johnson plays 'Lefty'-- how did I not see this before! à la Jimi Hendrix
Some of you aren't old enough to remember Midnight Special, but boy was it good
THIS IS A GOOD SONG TO LISTEN WHEN YOU’RE DOWN. BARS! 😀😀
I was born in 1993 and I wish I was born in the 70s man smh
George rocked that perfect Afro ❤
😩 good soul music
Louis Johnson was a Bass God lyo me when I I was a young aspiring bass player all of 12 years old. RIP King!
1:05 I can see why their album was Neva released
Now that is an afro.

Bellissima Venezia 🇮🇹
I'm listening to this song and I started singing Frankie Beverley and Maze - Before I let go. Don't ask me how but somehow both songs sounds similar or can seemlessly blend into each other
I was a Rock person in my teens. But as a kid, I grew up on TJB because my dad had the "Whipped Cream" 8-track tape. And of course, his music was always on the radio. I was already a fan of his tunes when I got into radio-eventually working at a "Smooth Jazz" station in Portland around 82-83. I was in heaven. Still am. Think I'm going to pull up "Passion Dance" That is an awesome CD. Get it. You'll love it.
Herb Arbert lo maximo ,desde Lima-Perú.
Man they were good. Strawberry Letter 23 is still a favorite.
George had the most perfect Afro!
This band has never gotten their due from the industry.
Because this song was popular at the time blaring away on boomboxes in the Army barracks, it always reminds me of being in Washington DC during the summer of 1976 (the Bicentennial!)
I’m only 19 but these cats cool asf
